Houston is a multi-talend player who can play both inside and outside. If she stays healthy this season, she is on track to set the all-time California scoring record for high school girls, which is 3,446 points held by Cheryl Miller set at Riverside Poly from 1979-82. Last season Houston scored over 50 points five times and averaged 35 points a game.
She was the first girl to ever play in the Las Vegas Big Time Tournament last summer.
The All Star Girls Report, a well-known recruiting service, has Houston as the #2 prospect in the nation for the class of 2004. She is a consensus top ten national rpsoepct.
A commitment from Houston would add
to an already strong recruiting class for the Bruins. UCLA has commitments from
two standout recruits: Lindsey Pluimer, a 6-3 power forward/center from San
Clemente High School, and Lauren Pedersen, a 5-10 guard from powerhouse
Brea-Olinda High School. Pluimer is considered a top 30 national prospect while
Pedersen was All-CIF last season and is considered a great outside shooter.
