Jamaal Westerman, DE, 6-2, 235, 4.6, Notre Dame Catholic Secondary, Bramption, On
"Boise State, Central Michigan, Rutgers. I am also being recruited, by Akron, Eastern Michigan, Marshall and Buffalo."
"I don't really have any yet. I want to see all three schools before I list a favorite. You can go to one school and like something there and then another school will have something different to offer. I want to see all the schools before I decide on favorites.
I like Rutgers. I worked with Randy Melvin at the combine. I liked him. They are winning more games than last year. Syracuse was a big win. That is a big improvement from last year to this year. Rutgers is up and coming. I like that about Rutgers."
"I led the team in sacks. I had about 2 and a half a game. In the playoffs I had 6 or7 sacks in 4 games. Our team was a run stuffing defense but I'll do what ever a team needs me to do. I can both run stop and pass rush very well."
Westerman is rated one of the top players in Ontario and perhaps the finest defensive end prospect north of the border. He has great speed and strength, which allows him to shed blockers and pressure opposing quarterbacks. Westerman projects as a defensive end at the next level.
"I am originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It was always my dream to play in the NCAA. I first got interested in Rutgers from my friendship with Jason Nugent. He talked to me about Rutgers and it sounded good."
