Jean Beljour (RB/DB/LB, 6'1"-210lbs, 4.45 forty) from Hackensack High School in Hackensack, NJ is one of the best and most versatile prospects in the state of New Jersey. This year, Beljour ran for over 1,000 yards while again splitting carries with another Division IA prospect - Davon Smart (Junior). Although Hackensack High School lost to Ridgewood High School in the playoffs, they are a talent laiden team with as many as six Division IA prospects on the roster.
Beljour has over 15 offers from schools such as Rutgers, Syracuse, Okla State, Wisconsin, UConn, Maryland, and Boston College.
For the past few months, Beljour has had Rutgers and Syracuse as his leaders. It seems that Rutgers has taken the lead for his services and may obtain a commitment from the Northern Jersey star. It maybe a little premature to say it is a " done deal" but it is a good bet. Since Hackensack has a talent laiden team, we might expect additional Hackensack Comets to join Beljour in future years.
Beljour has a visit scheduled to Syracuse on December 6th for the Notre Dame game. On December 12th, he will visit Rutgers.
For those who are not familiar with the Hackensack program, they have three juniors who are potential Division IA prospects. The best of the three is probably Danny Oquendo, who is the nephew of the former Rutgers star wide receiver Walter King. Oquendo has already obtained a number of offers and interest from numerous division IA teams and has the ability to play DB or WR.
