Chenry Lewis (DE/OLB, 6'3"-210lbs, 4.6 forty) visited Rutgers on the weekend of December 5th and Iowa on the weekend of December 12th. Depending on his ability to add weight, Lewis can play DE or OLB in college. He is blessed with a great first step and athleticism.
He liked the academics and the coaching staff. He stated that the campus was nice. He was hosted by George Eshareturi, a freshmen DL from New York. They hung out in the dorms and attended a number of parties.
He stated that the visit was really good along with the coaches and the facilities, especially the expansion to the football complex. The visit to the ESPN Zone was one of the highlights of the visit. He also liked the position meetings with defensive line coach Randy Melvin. He was hosted by his good friend and former high school teammate from Paterson Catholic Rashawn Ricks.
Finally, he really liked Coach Schiano and his belief that Rutgers will be national champions.
Comparison between Iowa and Rutgers
He stated, "I love both of them but I can not pick both. I will need to speak to my coach to decide". Distance does not play a factor. He feels more comfortable at Rutgers because of the coaching staff. But he likes Iowa because of the academics and atmosphere. As a result, he is not sure about his leader.
He will be visiting Miami this weekend. They have not offered him. Why? They are waiting for him to score 820 on the SAT. However, he states that he is qualified.
When will he commit?
He will be making his decision after the Miami visit. He will take a few days to review the visits and make a decision. His coach will assist him in making the decision.
He was named All-State, All-County, and Player of the Year for Passaic County. This year, he has 18 sacks, 120 tackles, two blocked punts, and three forced fumbles with one recovery.
