The Scarlet Knights rebounded off their weak performance against Monmouth to challenge 15th ranked Pittsburgh at Pitt. The Panthers used solid defense in the first half to take a 6 point lead into the locker room at half time. Starting the second half Pitt extended that lead to eight.
Rutgers came back on an offensive attack that got everyone into the picture. Three point shooting by Ricky Shields, Marquis Webb and Quincy Douby coupled with slashing inside moves by Adrian Hill got the Knights a lead of as much as six points in the second half. Solid defense against the Panthers had Pitt struggling for answers.
Then the Knights went cold being unable to answer a Pitt scoring surge late in the game, Rutgers ended up falling 59-49.
