Danny Oquendo

Danny Oquendo (WR/DB, 6’2"-175lbs 4.4 forty) from Hackensack High School in Hackensack, New Jersey is a player that we have been following since his freshman year. As a freshman, he was already displaying the size, quickness, and speed needed to play on the Division IA level. One coach stated that he has the opportunity to be a “great football player, not just a good one”. Oquendo is the nephew of former Rutgers standout Walter King.


Currently, he has one written scholarship offer from Rutgers.


He has been receiving a lot of attention from Maryland, Syracuse, Michigan, MSU, PSU, UVa, Wisconsin, Iowa, BC, and WVU. More offers will be coming very soon.

- They are his favorite college to watch on TV
- Has family in the area
- Likes the area

- Likes the defense
- His former teammate Jermaine Dias plays on the team

They have been recruiting him for a while
- They are getting a lot of commitments

- They are the most storied program recruiting him. It is a plus that they wear his favorite colors.


The diversity of the school will be a big factor. He likes the ACC. He likes an urban setting therefore schools in a rural setting will not be high on his list.

He will be taking all five of his visits before making a decision.

In order to make an informed decision, he will employ advice from his coaches, his uncles, and people who have been in his position before.

Camps & unofficials

Oquendo will be going to the Maryland Junior Day. He will also visit Virginia and Penn State.

Rutgers Junior Day

He stated that it was good to see all of the best juniors in the state. It was the first time at he has been in the Hale Center since he was 12 years old. It felt good to be there again. He really enjoyed the interfacing with the coaching staff.


He would like to major in History, Computer Science, or Engineering
