Mike Brown  (RB/DB, 5’10"-170lbs 4.4 forty) from St Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, New Jersey will be one of the most highly recruited players in New Jersey next Fall. As a junior, he ran for 980 yards on 70 carries while splitting time with Rashawn Jackson (junior) and Keearye Griffin (Soph).


Brown has written scholarship offers from Boston College, Rutgers, Penn State, Michigan State, Virginia, Syracuse, and Notre Dame

Notre Dame
- Likes the coaches. However, he does not know how stable they are in their positions.
- Likes the tradition.
- The academic reputation is outstanding

- Last year, Brown visited during the Ohio State game and really liked the atmosphere. He especially likes Coach Ganter, the facilities, especially the stadium, and the tradition.

- Likes the young coaching staff
- The new facilities are the best in the nation
- They have a big upside

- Great academic reputation – top public university
- Has a NJ Back starting
- Really likes Head Coach Al Groh

- A few years ago, he went to the USC vs. PSU game in the Kickoff Classic and fell in love with the tradition

Brown would like to redshirt so he can mature and learn. The location does not matter to him. Whatever school fits him the best – academics, diversity, and athletics.  He would like to take all of his visits before making a final decision.

Camps & unofficials

He will not be camping at any schools. However, he will go to the Nike Camp at PSU.

Rutgers Junior Day

He stated that “it was great”. He toured the facilities. It had everything that you could dream of. He loves the packed basketball game which showed him it is a good community.

He attended the Junior Day with his father and mother. They also thought it was great. They want him to stay home to allow them to see him play. They thought Rutgers was a great opportunity.


Brown would like to major in Criminal Justice. He would like to join the FBI after completing football.

Other Sports

He plays baseball – CF. Runs track 55meter dash – best 6.5


Brown’s position coach at St. Peter’s Prep is former Rutgers player Willie Wilkes.
