Jeremy Zuttah

Anothony Miller - WR (L)  and Jeremy Zuttah - OL (R)

Jeremy Zuttah is one of the most highly recruited offensive linemen to attend Rutgers in over 20 years. He turned down schools like Ohio State, Virginia Tech, and Iowa to attend Rutgers and build a powerhouse in New Jersey. Four other offensive linemen are a part of the 2004 Rutgers recruiting class and will be the foundation of the future at Rutgers.

Zuttah was able to provide us with the below Q&A:

  • How does it feel to finally have the recruiting process over?

    • It felt great to end the recruiting process.  It can be a very stressful experience, though it's also a lot of fun.  I'm glad I handled it the way I did and took my time with things.

  • How does it feel to be attending school with your best friend – Anthony Miller?
    • It’s great to be attending school with Ant.  It'll be great to go through the whole college experience with a friend like him.  We're reppin JP Stevens together and that’s really cool.

  • What position would you prefer playing in college?

    • As far as offense vs. defense i prefer defense, even though I know I can play defense.  As far as what position on the line, I'm not sure at all.  I could probably play any position on the line, and I'll play whichever gets me on the field first.

  • Would you like to play as a freshman or redshirt? Have you discussed this with the coaching staff?
    • I'd like to play as a freshman. But if I'm not in a position to start very early in the season, I would like to redshirt.  The only thing the coaches have said is that the Oline is probably the hardest position to play as a freshman.  They said prepare as if you're going to play right away and we'll go from there.

  • Besides Anthony Miller, have you been in contact with any other incoming freshmen?

    • Yes, I've been in contact with a few other kids.  I've been talking to Mike Teel, Chenry Lewis, Jean Beljour and Dwayne Jones every once in a while.

  • What are your plans for the summer? – working out and conditioning at Rutgers, attending classes, etc.

    • I'll be working out at Rutgers very soon, because I only live 10 minutes away.  I just have difficulty getting there because I don't have a car.  Also Anthony is running track so I can only get there with him every once in a while.  I have no plans to start classes early, but it is an option.
