Christopher Young

Brian Cushing, 6-3, 230, LB, WR, Bergen Catholic HS, Oradell, NJ

The last time we caught up with Brian he had just come back from a recruiting trip to Big 10 country.  During the trip he was offered by the Michigan State Spartans, but was not by his at the time leader, the University of Michigan.  This time we wanted to get a sense for how his recruiting process has continued and whether anything has changed at the top of his list.

How many offers do you have?

Brian is up to 14 offers, up from 5 since we last caught up with him.  The list is impressive and includes Rutgers, Syracuse, Boston College, Michigan State, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Virginia, Iowa, and Penn State, along with several others.

How have your feelings on Michigan changed during the past several weeks?  Are they still at the top?

"Michigan will be coming by to visit me at the school soon - but no they are not at the top of my list any more."

Has Rutgers continued to recruit you hard?

"Oh yes."  Brian stated that Rutgers was also the first school to offer him a scholarship, which remains important to him.

Rutgers' Spring practice game will be next Saturday.  Are you planning on being there?

Brian stated that he is planning on being at the annual Scarlet-White game.

Do you have a timetable on when you plan to commit?

Brian stated that he no longer did have a timetable.  He wants to see all the schools that he is interested in and does not want to hurry the process.

Notes:  Brian had 120 tacklesduring his Junior year.  He had 10 sacks, and 18 tackles for loss.  He also added 7 INTs.  Offensively Brian caught 13 passes for 456 yds.
