James Williams (DB, 5'11"-180lbs, 4.5 forty) from Plainfield H.S in Plainfield, New Jersey is among the top 50 prospects in the state of New Jersey. As a result, he has drawn the attention of schools such as Virginia Tech, Ohio State, South Carolina, Iowa, and Rutgers.
During the weekend of April 23rd, he traveled to Virginia Tech for their spring game. He liked the campus, facilities, location, and the fans. He met a number of the team members and liked the relationship between them and the coaches. He also liked the aggressive play of the DBs and the athleticism of their skilled players, especially Marus Vick.
During the trip, he was a part of the Tom Lemming recruiting road trip 2004. He took a number of photos and was interviewed for his publication. During the weekend, James Williams met numerous top recruits including Super soph Myron Rolle.
Iowa, OSU, South Carolina, and Rutgers are still showing a lot of interest. Each school will be in to visit him during the May evaluation period.
Williams continues to work hard off the field. He has increased his bench press to 250lbs and improved his squat to 400lbs. His work in the weightroom has improved his forty yard dash time by bringing his time closer to a 4.5 forty. As part of his workout he runs five 100-meters and runs four 40 yard dashes per day, seven days per week. All of this is after his track practice.
In an effort to display his improvement, he will be attending the Elite Combine on May 5th at Giant Stadium. Afterward, he will make his decision regarding which camps to attend for the summer.
