Just when you thought Brian Cushing could not receive any more offers, the Bergen Catholic linebacker has added five new scholarships in the last two days. The newest rides handed to him come courtesy of South Florida, Louisville, Wisconsin, USC and Ohio State. The last two are particularly notable given that he has mentioned the Trojans and Buckeyes in previous reports as two of his favorites.

"The USC coaches talked to me on the phone yesterday and made the offer. Coach [Darrell] Hazell was at my school today and told my coach that they have offered," the elite linebacker discloses. "This is all just awesome."

If you're keeping count, that brings the scholarship total to 33 for the 6'3" defensive dynamo. "I will be taking a lot of trips this summer, and I will decide then which are my favorites," he explains. "Probably have a top three then."

Cushing plans to take trips to see USC, Stanford, Miami, Florida State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Penn State and Boston College this summer. With such a busy schedule, you can expect a flood of information to come from his mouth this summer as he scrutinizes each of these schools and their campuses. Stay tuned because this race has just gotten underway.

Earlier this month at the Elite College Combine held at the Meadowlands, Brian Cushing ran a 3.82 pro shuttle in front of a national gathering of coaches - the fastest time at the camp. He also ran a 4.48 40. For an athlete his size with that speed, plus a 41" vertical jump, it is little wonder that he is attracting this much
