Mays Landing (N.J.) Oakcrest linebacker Dakota Walker has verbally committed to remain with Greg Schiano in the State of Rutgers for the next four years.  Dakota has earned several offers from many schools across the east coast, but in the end, staying home wound up being the best option.

Almost one week ago, at the end of the Greg Schiano football camp, rumors were flying that the 6-foot-4, 225 pounder had committed to Rutgers.  At the time, Dakota indicated otherwise:
"I wouldn't say that, but I like them. They are my favorite, so far, but I'm not going to do anything like that until next year."

Indeed, one week later, Dakota's commitment to Rutgers has become firm.  In a separate interview with Dakota's brother, Desmond, all indications seemed to point to a double commitment.  "Yes, we plan on staying together," offered Dakota, when discussing the likelihood of Desmond joining him in on the banks in the future.

For now, Rutgers fans can enjoy the feeling that comes with knowing that their school has landed one of the top linebacker prospects on the east coast.
