"It was my first time up there. I liked it a lot," stated Chris McClover in reference to his first Garden State exposure.
A relatively unknown prospect until now, Chris is just starting to attract attention from some of the bigger schools. However, as has been the case in numerous instances, it was the Rutgers staff that was first to key in on the Floridian. Rutgers was the first school from a BCS conference to offer Chris a scholarship.
Currently holding offers from Eastern Michigan and Rutgers, Chris is also receiving interest from Auburn, Virginia Tech, North Carolina State, LSU, West Virginia, and Mississippi State.
Some had thought the rising star from the sunshine state would commit once being offered. Although he remains very impressed with the staff and Rutgers he does plan on weighing all his options first.
"I loved the campus. I loved the players. You're like family there. How could you not like that?" Chris spent a significant amount of time with Rutgers wideouts Tres Moses and Shawn Tucker. The impression the Rutgers stars left on Chris seemed to have made an immediate impact on his thoughts about Rutgers. "I like those guys. I like their style - they way they were talking to me, trying to teach me and show me everything."
Despite not committing now, is there a chance Rutgers may still secure a commitment from Chris sometime in the future? "Yes sir, I could picture myself being there for four years."
