Listed at 6'3" and 260, one's impression is that Kevin's frame has plenty more room to hold additional weight. That is of course good news when projecting a senior's size two or three years down the road. A versatile athlete with quick feet, Kevin has received interest from a number of eastern schools.
Kevin has had a chance to spend time with Coach Holder. However, he's more familiar with Coach Rizzi, who is recruiting him to Rutgers. "He [Coach Rizzi] is awesome. He tells it like it is."
So how does Rutgers stack up with the other schools recruiting Kevin? "They think that my feet are good - [During camp] they kept correcting me on my drop-steps. Otherwise, Coach Holder will talk to Coach Schiano, and we'll go from there."
Kevin spent one day at the recent Rutgers football camp. Though he didn't participate in any of the speed drills, he did take part in the one on one drills. The highlight of those drills was the Bergen County match-up featuring Sean Lissemore (DE), from Dumont NJ, and Kevin. Both men went hard after one another and displayed the kind of fire that has become expected at Greg Schiano's camps.
Currently, Kevin lists North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Michigan State, Syracuse, and Uconn, as his top schools. He is fully qualified with a GPA just under a 3.0. However, Kevin indicated that he does intend to retake his SATs to improve his score.
