Michael Ray Garvin, of Don Bosco Prep School in Ramsey New Jersey is one of the hottest corner backs in the nation this year and already holds over forty official offers. As the Number #7 ranked cornerback in the country by TheInsiders and a legitimate four star recruit, this press corner from the East Coast has had every elite program in the nation contact him one way or another attempting to recruiting him to their campus. So who are Michael's top schools?
Garvin has yet to set up any official visits but says all of his top schools save maybe Rutgers, who he says is recruiting him the hardest will get visits.
"I have not set anything up yet but I plan to….You know with Rutgers, I know them so well I am not sure if I will go see them but I plan on taking all five of my trips and will set up trips to all my top schools."
Asked what he is looking for in a school: "I looking for a program that can help me get into the NFL after college. "
As for K-State and what he likes about the Cats: "K-State, you know they put out some really good backs and that is what has me interested in them. I want to go to a school that will help me get to the NFL and they put a lot of players in the NFL After college that is a dream of mine to play in the NFL and I definitely want to find a program that can help me get to that level… K-State's defense is really good and they like to play press and leave guys out there…..and you now they had Terrence Newman, I watch him."
Asked about his playing style: "I have great speed and great coverage skills. My fastest time in the forty has been 4.22. I like to play man press. That is what our school runs and what I am used to. I think I am more of a speed guy you know I will set you up and then use my speed against you and then just lock you down, not let you catch anything. Last year I had four interceptions and returned two for touchdowns."
As for playing time: "I want to play as a freshman and honestly I want to try and start. Playing time is important to me, I really do not want to redshirt."
Asked if he has been able to attend any camps this summer: "No, I have not really gone anywhere this summer, just been running track and getting faster."
As for a recruiting timeline, Garvin says he has plans to take all five of his official visits and he's in absolutely no rush to make a decision.
