New Jersey Shines at AAU Super Showcase

It is beautiful Orlando, FL, and it serves as the current site for the final showdown between the nation's top teams and players. Played in the impressive Disney Wide World Of Sports Sports Complex, the New Jersey All-Stars opened up against Team Illinois in very impressive fashion.

Familiar names represented Team New Jersey in their first contest in sunny Orlando.  A close contest at the half, New Jersey led 36-30.

Late in the fourth quarter, led by Jaron Griffin's 17 points, New Jersey pulled away to win 77-58.  Andrew Bynum collected 16 points and Anthony Farmer chipped in with 9.

Jaron Griffin and Anthony Farmer have both given Coach Waters verbal commitments for the incoming class of 2005.  Playing alongside friend, and for the time being teammate, Andrew Bynum, while winning in convincing fashion, can only help to further bond Bynum with Rutgers' commits.

Currently, the big man from Metuchen, lists Rutgers, along with Connecticut, and others among his favorites. An early decision does not seem likely at this time.
