Jaron Griffin was the high scorer in New Jersey's initial game in the last main basketball showcase tournament of the season. Leading the way with 17 points, the All-Stars cruised to their first win of the tourney. The nightcap proved to be a different story and New Jersey found itself in a must win situation coming in to today.
Rutgers's first verbal commitment for the class of 2005 got into early foul trouble today and missed the majority of the first half. After he quickly picked up his third and fourth fouls and barely managing to break into double digits in terms of minutes played, New Jersey had to look elsewhere for its savior. Anthony Farmer stepped up netting 19 points to go along with 6 assists to lead his team to a 58-45 victory over the Travelers.
The top 2 teams in each pool advance to the playoffs. The New Jersey All-Stars' record of 2 wins and 1 loss is enough to bolster them into the next round.
