The 2004 recruiting class in New Jersey seems to be one of the deepest in years. One position that has a couple of division 1A prospects is tight end. One of the two best players at the position is Garret Graham (TE, 6'4"-220lbs) from Brick Township Memorial HS in Brick, New Jersey. As a junior, Graham had 37 catches for 760 yards and five touchdowns. For his efforts, he was named to the AP All-State team.

His talents have not gone unnoticed. Graham has offers from Rutgers, Syracuse, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Northwestern, and Missouri. Although he has a number of offers, he does not have a favorite among his suitors. However, he has spent the summer visiting those schools that have offered him. To date, he has visited Rutgers, Northwestern, and West Virginia. During the week of August 2nd, he will be visiting Georgia Tech.

He feels comfortable with all of the schools and coaches that are recruiting him. This is one of the reasons why all of the schools recruiting him are on the same level of favoritism. In order to make a determination between the schools, he has three major factors that he will use to make a decision. They are the type of program, the academic reputation of the school, and the available playing time at his position or the depth. Of the three, playing time or depth at his position could be the major deciding factor.

Outstanding players normally develop relationships with each other and a natural pair are quarterbacks and receivers. Subsequently, Graham has developed a relationship with Dom Natale. The two have had a number of discussions over the phone. Graham hopes to have an opportunity to workout with him but have not had a chance to sync schedules. However, he states that the commitment of Natale to a school with not greatly effect his college destination.

During the football season, Graham will start to narrow his choices to those five schools that he will visit. He hopes to make a decision by the end of the season or some time before the National Signing Day.
