Gause Proves Himself This Summer

Guard Paul Gause was one of many reasons why the New Jersey All Stars were successful this summer

Paul Gause, a 5-foot-11, 176-pound lead guard/combo guard from Arthur P. Schalick High School in Pittsgrove, New Jersey, simply had an outstanding summer with the New Jersey All Stars.

Gause was instrumental in helping the All Stars win the Showcase last week in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. He helped stop Louis Williams and the Georgia Stars in the semifinal game and he scored 18 points in the final to help defeat Martin Brothers Select.

"I am pretty much open," Gause said. "I have been hearing from Tennessee State, James Madison, Cincinnati, and South Carolina."

Gause also had a very good NIKE camp. Gause is an offensive-minded lefty who can dart past defenders and also drain the open jumper.

Paul can also play football. Regarded as a solid cornerback prospect, he is also on the track and field team. He has a personal best of 21.9 in the 200 meters. He has cleared 6-foot-6 in the high jump and leapt 22-feet, 11-inches in the long jump.

Paul has received interest from Rutgers, Ohio State, Maryland, Connecticut, Miami, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Nebraska, and Oklahoma in football. Gause said he is unsure of what sport he might try or perhap even compete in both.
