The offers continue to pour in for Miami (Fla.) Edison Senior HS defensive back Chris Chancellor (5' 9" and 160 pounds). One of the most talented DBs in the sunshine state, Chancellor holds numerous offers from a number of BCS schools including, Florida State, North Carolina State, Oklahoma State, Maryland, Rutgers, Clemson, Syracuse, and Michigan State. He has also received offers from the likes of Southern Illinois, Southern Florida and Louisiana - Lafayette.
Chancellor was scheduled to attend the recent Rutgers/Michigan State contest this past weekend. However, Hurricane Frances derailed all hopes of that occurrence. Is Chancellor planning on re-scheduling?
"Oh yeah, I'll be there on October 30th against West Virginia." Chancellor is planning on taking an official visit during the weekend of the Mountaineer game. He will be joined by his brother Demerick Chancellor, whom Rutgers is also recruiting.
C. Chancellor is one of the top corners in the entire state of Florida. With 17 career interceptions to his name, Chancellor would like to amass about 7 or 8 more to solidify his name in the record books.
At this time he indicated that he is completely open on his recruitment. He has no preference to go out of state or remain in state.
Due to the recent storm, the local television station that was carrying the Rutgers/Michigan State game was unable to carry out its broadcast. Although Chancellor was not able to see the game, he heard all about the latest developments from Piscataway, New Jersey. "I heard about it, the crowd, the victory. I think the program is heading in the right direction. They're going to be real good with Coach Schiano and Coach Demarest and they get a lot of Florida players which is always good."
Chancellor was slated to open up his senior season at Edison Senior HS this past week. Opening day has now been pushed back to Thursday as Miami Edison Senior is pitted against Southridge.
