One New Jersey player who appears to be very interested in the Rutgers program is Northern Highlands Regional offensive lineman <b>Kevin Hughes</b> (6'3", 260lbs, 5.40 forty). To date Hughes has been offered by North Carolina and Pittsburgh.

Kevin Hughes Greg Schiano has been laying the foundation for something special in Piscataway. To truly be successful at the D-1 level programs must recruit their own state. Once Schiano can convince the top players from the "Garden State" to stay home, the Scarlet Knights could turn into a perennial power. One New Jersey player who appears to be very interested in the Rutgers program is Northern Highlands Regional offensive lineman Kevin Hughes (6-3, 260, 5.40). To date Hughes has been offered by North Carolina and Pittsburgh.

Rutgers, South Carolina, and Michigan State are in a group that according to Hughes could offer soon.

"They want to see film of my first few games and then they will make a decision," said Hughes

A few weeks ago Hughes took in the Rutgers-Michigan State game. Hughes came away impressed by what he saw.

"It was a great experience, I have never seen Rutgers like that I was very impressed."

Hughes and his teammates are off to a rough start at (0-2) including a tough (31-12) defeat at the hands of their Rival Ramsey high school.

In the next few weeks Hughes should receive feedback from Rutgers on his game film. If the Scarlet Knights offer they may receive another in state commitment.
