"I went there [to Rutgers] with my parents today. I talked to Coach Schiano and Coach Galiano, and I committed."
Long rumored to be a Rutgers lean Quaye decided that the time was just right to make his decision.
"My parents liked it and that's what I was waiting for, for my parents to meet the coaches. I like the coaches a lot and I like all the facilities."
"The coaches are young and so they can relate to all the players cause they're young too. Rutgers is the best fit for me."
Quaye committed to his home-state school over offers from Marshall and Temple along with interest from Maryland and Penn State. Quaye was familiar with both the Penn State and Maryland campuses as he has toured them both on visits to each school.
"I went to Penn State and I went to Maryland too. They're [Rutgers'] the best facilities I have seen."
Quaye has been receiving interest from a number of schools, some recruiting him as a LB and some looking at him more like a FB. The Rutgers coaches have yet to decide what position Quaye will best fit into, but Quaye states that he would prefer to play on the defensive side of the ball.
"I was being recruited for both LB and RB. They're [RU staff] not sure where they want me as of yet. I want to play LB but if they need me at FB or RB I'll play that."
Quaye is the eight verbal commitment to Greg Schiano's latest class.
Before concluding Quaye had a single lasting message to the RU faithful.
"I want to help Rutgers win championships."
