Dennis Campbell was one of the prospects to visit the Scarlet Knights this weekend. During his interview, he stated that he has offers from Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, South Florida, Utah, and Central Florida.
Since Campbell only played in three games this season, these offers are pretty impressive. In the third game of the season, Campbell broke a non-weight bearing bone in his leg and was not able to play again until the playoffs. Even so, he amassed 10 receptions for 190 yards from his WR position. At RB, he ran for 325 yards on 25 carries with a total of 9 touchdowns. As a junior, he ran from 700 yards with 400 yards receiving. He has the speed to accompany his statistics. At the North Carolina State summer camp, he was timed at 4.39 in the forty. On the track, he ran the 100-meters in 10.74 and the 200-meters in 21.7.
Campbell loved the academics, facilities, dormitories, and the school's proximity to New York City. This coupled with the number of Florida kids led him to rank his Rutgers visit as a ten out of a scale of one to ten. Although Rutgers was his first visit, he left impressed.
Dimitri Linton was Campbell's host and the two hung out with Marcus Daniels, Marcus Facyson, and Vantrise Studivant (DE/TE, 6'4"-250lbs, another Florida prospect from Suncoast High School). During the visit, Campbell toured the campus, attended the Rutgers basketball game, and visited the ESPNzone.
Next weekend, Campbell will take his ACT and will probably take another visit the following weekend to either Oklahoma State or Minnesota.
