Prospect Video Highlight: Shane McElwain

Earlier this week updated its Premium feature RU Targets, updating the interest of several prospects Rutgers is pursuing, and including new names that Scarlet Knights fans should become more familiar with. In that session, we introduced fans to a gifted athlete by the name of Shane McElwain. McElwain, hails from Palm Beach Central HS in South Florida. Below, we feature McElwain's highlight video, displaying the young man's impressive versatility.

Shane McElwain is a recent name that has yet to be mentioned. He's a friekish specimen on film, from Palm Beach FL. He has played TE, the offensive line, and the defensive line in HS, and could play virtually anywhere at the next level. However, Rutgers is looking at the talented 6'5" and 260-pound prospect as a DT.

McElwain is extremely athletic with long arms and could be a very good defensive lineman at the next level. He has only played 1 year of high school ball as he moved from Canada recently, but now that his tape is getting around, schools are taking notice. Rutgers is close to offering a scholarship and Arkansas offered a free ride virtually the moment they received his film.

Players with this type of size, work ethic, athleticism, and toughness don't come around very often, and it's safe to say the opposition in hockey, where he began his sporting journey in Canada is hoping they won't have to see him coming at them any time soon.

Below, we feature McElwain's highlight film, displaying his impressive versatility at a number of positions.

We will update you with developments on McElwain's situation as it develops in the weeks ahead.
