Luqman Abdallah has already taken two of his official visits this season.
"I've been to Rutgers and Michigan State," said Abdallah. "I didn't really like one better than they other. I really liked both of them. Both places had great coaching staffs and everyone seemed real friendly. One thing I really liked about both places is they stressed academics and that's something I'm really looking for."
The Irish were recruiting Abdallah before the coaching change. We asked the Hun high school senior if he has heard from Notre Dame recently.
"I really haven't heard from them except a couple of letters," said Abdallah. "I haven't heard anything since Tyrone (Willingham) left."
Abdallah says he's still interested in Notre Dame.
"I like them, but I'm not sure how interested they are in me right now," he said. "I'll just have to wait and see if they call me."
In the meantime, Abdallah has a busy schedule in January.
"I have an official visit set up for Wake Forest on Jan. 7. I also have visits set for Miami on Jan. 14 and Virginia Tech on Jan. 21," Abdallah said.
Abdallah has also picked up a few more offers recently.
"Vandy, Purdue, Michigan State, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Miami, Wake Forest, Iowa, North Carolina--there are a couple of others," said Abdallah when asked which schools have offered him a scholarship at this point.
We asked Abdallah if he would be interested if the Irish called him.
"Right now they're really not on the radar," he said. "It's still a great program and an excellent place to play. I didn't like their coaching situation there. I don't like coaching instability. I want to be sure the coach I'm going to play for will be there my four years."
