Rutgers after NY RB

The Rutgers football program continues to make inroads in New York State, this time looking at a 2004 All-County Selection in Rockland County and one of the top 20 overall prospects in the Empire State. <p>

Riedrick Alceus is 5-foot-11, 230-pound running back that made 1st team All Rockland County in 2004 as a junior.

He is considered by many as one of the top 20 best football players in New York State in this season.

North Rockland (Rockland County, NY) High School Football Coach Joe Cassarella knows for his team to win next year his star running back Riedrick Alceus has to be healthy.

"He got hurt last year and that really hurt us. He only played in a couple games and still managed to run for like 400 yards. He is a big back with great speed."

Several eastern schools are among the first to be taking a look look at the talented back from the lower Hudson Valley School.

"Rutgers, Syracuse, and UConn are the main schools that are recruiting him right now," stated Coach Cassarella.

Alceus is a talented athlete that is also the field goal kicker on the team and made 1st Team All-Rockland County as a field goal kicker.

As of now he has no plans to attend any summer camps.
