ScoutTV: Even More from the Rutgers Spring Game

The Scarlet-White Spring Game may not have had the usual cast of Rutgers stars on the field. However, several Rutgers players that need to have big years next fall for the Scarlet Knight program to succeed displayed the type of performance that Rutgers fans have been hoping for. <p> Below, ScoutTV displays a choice of select plays from this year's Spring Game that may have Rutgers fans encouraged for this upcoming fall.

Despite missing several of its key components the Scarlet-White game still provided fans with an opportunity to have a first-hand look at the talent and depth Rutgers Head Coach Greg Schiano and his staff have built since arriving at Rutgers four years years ago.

Below, we will take a look at some of RU's wily veterans and some of the program's future stars as Rutgers football heads into year number five in the Greg Schiano era.

Technically, Sr. WR Tres Moses only gets credit for an 8-yard rush on this particular play.  However, this reverse seemed more like a busted play that the wily veteran Moses saved, after he decided not to throw downfield from his own 34-yard line.  After Moses' scramble from his deepest position on the field (28-yard line) his play-saving rush and individual athletic ability was good for 25 yards before being taken down.

Sr. RB Clarence Pittman, who rushed for 91 yards on the day, had his best series in a 3rd quarter, 9-play and 65-yard scoring drive for the White squad.  Pittman totaled 28 rushing yards on the drive, including this 6-yard run into the endzone.  Pittman's touchdown put the White team ahead 16-0.

So. K Jeremy Ito, who has been consistently nailing shots from 50 and 55 yards out this spring (and beyond) had a rough afternoon in the Spring Game.  However, Ito's ability allows Rutgers another offensive weapon.  In this clip, Ito's point-after-try sails through the uprights.  Rutgers fans seem to no longer have to worry about getting the full 7 after scores, with Ito handling the kicking duties.
