"This morning (Tuesday morning) I decided to commit. I felt very comfortable when I was there. It felt like a family. I really enjoyed everyone's company. Rutgers is going to win a lot of games."
When asked what position he was headed for, Tverdov said, "I will go in as a defensive end. I am currently 6-4, 235 pounds. Last time I ran the forty it was a 4.68."
Rutgers and Virginia were giving him hard looks, and Tverdov decided not to wait on Virginia's offer. His commitment is solid and he is ready to move to campus.
"I won't be looking at any other schools," he said. "I have signed the papers. I will report on August 7th."
The depth chart is favorable to Tverdov, and he will have the opportunity to learn from a good one.
"I will play behind Ryan Neil. He was All-Big East last year. I am just going to go in there and raise hell on the Big East. There were a lot of schools who overlooked me, and didn't give me a chance."
During his senior year Tverdov recorded 140 tackles, and 19 tackles for loss. On offense, he recorded 23 receptions for 256 yards.
