Focus on St. Joe's (Montvale)

St. Joe's Regional High School is one of the more prestigious schools in New Jersey. The Green Knights have been winners of six straight NJ state Group III championships. Led by legendary head coach Tony Karcich, St. Joe's is looking to add at least another piece of hardware to their trophy case.

Despite playing in the formidable NNJIL-C Division, along with nationally renowned programs such as Don Bosco Prep and Bergen Catholic, the Green Knights of Saint Joseph have had little problems staying competitive.

St. Joe's did little but further solidify the line of thinking that they are one of the state's and nation's top programs by winning their sixth straight Parochial Group III state crown, in a 42-8 drubbing of Pope John (Sparta, NJ) at Rutgers Stadium.

Several of the Green Knights seniors have since departed, including QB Brent Weiss and Rutgers players Devin and Jason McCourty. However, plenty of talent remains - indeed St. Joe's is stocked.

Three of their current players have already received written scholarship offers from BCS schools while others have received written offers from DI-AA schools. A signifiacnt part of St. Joe's roster is receiving interest from football playing schools.

Toward the end of this summer and throughout the fall, we will provide in-depth coverage of St. Joe's season, in their bid for a seventh straight title.

Below, we begin with images from a recent Captain's Practice held on the campus of St. Joe's Regional HS.
