Neill and Foster Earn BE Honors

It was pretty and it was spectacular ... Willie Foster's kick-off return to open up the scoring only seconds into the contest versus Villanova was highlight-reel material. Ryan Neill, who's work ethic and non-stop motor have become a trademark of the veteran Scarlet Knight, left off where Foster began and the two were each awarded with Big East Conference honors.

Tack on 4.5 TFL to his team leading 2.0 sacks in Rutgers' home opener versus the Villanova Wildcats. Ryan Neill has continued his impressive play this year and has helped anchor a defensive line that allowed only 1 score to Villanova. Today, the Big East Conference recognized Neill for his performance in Saturday's home opener by naming him the Defensive Player of the Week.

Jr. WR Willie Foster got Rutgers on the board quickly by taking the opening kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown. Foster's return marked the first RU kickoff return for a touchdown since Sept. 28, 2002, when Nate Jones returned a kickoff 100 yards for a score at Tennessee. For his performance the Big East Conference has named Willie Foster Special Teams Player of the Week.

Neill, Foster and the rest of the Scarlet Knights return to action this upcoming Saturday as they travel to Buffalo. The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will be televised locally on the YES Network.
