And yesterday, Nemorin decided to let Rutgers Head Coach Greg Schiano in on the good news.
"I called Coach Schiano and told him I wanted to commit. It went well, he told me how happy he was that I committed and we were talking about when I would come up for my visit," stated Nemorin.
That visit, quite possibly with one of his fellow teammates (see below) is not likely during the year as the difficulty of accomodating schedules becomes too great.
"It will probably be in December, probably the second week in December. After I finish taking my SATs."
Nemorin is quite familiar with the RU staff having camped at the Rutgers camp in Florida (Plantation HS) and in New Jersey this past summer. In Florida, Nemorin had the opportunity to work with Linebackers Coach Darren Rizzi and stated that he came out of the experience a much better football player.
"I learned a lot. One of the things it [the camp] taught me was how to go downhill at LB."
"I worked with Coach Rizzi. He's a great coach. He's like an older brother to me."
Indeed, it was this special bond, one that makes someone feel like a member of an extended family, that served as the icing on the proverbial cake for Nemorin.
"I know what my ability is. I felt more comfortable in New Jersey, like I'm part of a family."
Nemorin also expressed his thoughts about the Rutgers campus and facilities, which he had a chance to see while in the Garden State this past summer.
"I was really impressed. I like the weight room. Everything was nice." One of Nemorin's teammates at Deerfield is a prospect by the name of Mike Blanc. Blanc plays defensive tackle, a position of need for the Scarlet Knights, and on the offensive line. Blanc currently holds offers from Arizona State, Rutgers, Temple, FIU, and FAMU and is receiving interest from several other schools.
Is there a chance that Nemorin will be working on his teammate and try to pursuade him to join him in New Jersey?
"I think so. Right now Rutgers is one of his top two schools," stated Nemorin.
The other school, according to the newest Scarlet Knight, is Auburn.
Nemorin plays predominantly as a TE. On the year he has recorded 10 catches for 173 yards and hauled in 3 TDs. Defensively he has also recorded 7 tackles.
What side of the ball was Nemorin recruited for at Rutgers?
"I'm going to be playing Linebacker."
While Nemorin states that his commitment is solid, he did say that he will take additional visits, to ensure he has explored all his options.
