As a former Rutgers football player, I know how special it is to write for the school that you decided to pledge to play your collegiate years. In addition, I can understand what a player is feeling while going through the recruiting process as well as a season at Rutgers. Therefore, we have decided to increase our Rutgers basketball coverage with the addition of former Rutgers standout basketball player Daryl Smith.
Daryl Smith was a four-year letter winner at Rutgers University. During his tenure, Rutgers won two league championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 1989 and 1991 and the NIT Tournament in 1990 and 1992. Known as one of Rutgers most exciting players, Daryl's high flying dunks, stellar defense and superb athleticism made him a fan favorite. He finished his career among the top 20 all time steals leaders at Rutgers.
He is currently President and CEO of D-TRAINED, Inc. and is widely regarded as the area's premier Basketball Performance Enhancement Specialist. To date he has written a book "12 Necessary Steps for Basketball Success", and has a DVD entitled "Basketball Strength, Speed and Skills Volume 1". In addition to being featured on NBA's Inside Stuff, and the WB11 morning news, Daryl is a frequent and highly sought after guest speaker at many of the nation's top basketball camps. The D-TRAINED program has been utilized by the top players, coaches and teams at the high school, college and professional level. For more information on his program and services log onto: www.dtrained.com
As a member of the Rutgers.Scout.com staff, Daryl will not only cover Rutgers basketball but provide on-line content for New Jersey and Metro basketball scene.
