Adjepong Breaks the Silence

For the past three months Jason Adjepong has shut himself off from the media to focus on his team and his senior season. He is still not ready to face a barrage of phone calls and reporters, but he did decide to grant us an interview

Jason Adjepong, who is a standout linebacker/defensive end from Carteret, N.J., has made himself scarce to most media. He did however decide to give and update on his recruitment and his trip to Ann Arbor.
“I went to Michigan on an official for the Minnesota game,” Adjepong said. “It was an excellent trip, although it was cold up there. They had that family type of atmosphere and I felt like they took care of me there. I loved the place.”

Adjepong has decided that he will take the rest of his visits after the season. Carteret is currently in the second round of the playoffs. The tricky part is figuring out who will get the remaining four official visits.

“I’m down to eight teams right now Virginia Tech, Miami, Georgia, Boston College, Rutgers, Iowa, Ohio State, and Michigan,” he said. “I’ll have to figure out which ones will get officials.”

Rutgers is having one of its most successful seasons in recent memory and has been a consistent site among Adjepong’s leaders, has the breakout season from the Scarlet Knights helped their cause?

“Just because their winning now doesn’t give them an advantage, most of the other teams who are recruiting me have been winning for a long time. It will all depend on the situation as to whether I go there or not.”

Carteret will square off against Manasquan in the second round of the playoffs this weekend.

“I’m not sure of what my stats are; I’m just doing my thing. I think I’m first or second on the team in tackles. The last regular season game I had 16 tackles and two sacks.”
