Brandon Preaster

I received this interesting note from someone "in the know" at the Montclair (NJ) HS football program.

"Brandon Preaster is a 5'11" 180 lbs. junior who is going to be our starting quarterback this season. He started in place of Tyrone Griner last year in a key game against Paramus Catholic and did a very good job throwing for 3 TDs and no INTs. He added another TD pass against Westfield in the playoffs. Brandon probably would have been our starting QB last year and maybe even his sophomore year if he wasn't competing against Tyrone. Brandon ran a 4.75 in the forty (at the Nike Camp) and impressed many of the coaches running the camp with his arm strength and accuracy. He is not as athletic as Tyrone, but he is a poised drop back passer who has escapability as well as intangible leadership skills. Obviously his biggest drawback is the lack of height and starting experience so I don't know how much interest Rutgers would have since they seem to look for taller QBs."

Brandon will be a player to keep an eye on this coming season. Be sure and check back as we give you updates from time to time.
