Robert Toresco, 6-0, 205, DB, 4.5 , Hunterdon Central HS, Flemington, NJ
Almost in Rutgers' backyard is a defensive back prospect who is picking up major attention from top Div 1A schools because of his athletic ability. He is also picking up major attention from the "Ivys" due to his academics and his athletic ability. Robert Toresco is a can't miss prospect for any school looking for a quality "student athlete" in the true sense of that phrase.
Among the football powers looking at Rob are West Virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Syracuse. Most of the Ivy League schools like Robert also because of his combination of smarts and football ability.
On the field last year Rob showed why so many schools are taking note. He had 6 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries and over 80 tackles while breaking up more than 10 passes. Rob also excelled as a running back were he ran for 1200 yards last year averaging about 6 yards per carry.
Moreover, Rob is a leader on the field who is noted for smart, heady play.
Right now West Virginia and Virginia Tech are recruiting Rob the hardest but don't rule out his possible choice of an Ivy school. Rob Toresco values academics as evidenced by a GPA over 97%. On the other hand, Rob also likes "Big Time Football" and "Big Time" Virginia Tech has told him that he would fit in well in their secondary where he is being projected as a strong safety. With so many choices coming his way Rob might have some hard decisions to make before this year is over.
