Jermaine Dias - Top New Jersey Linebacker
Jermaine Dias (DE, 6'2"-225lbs) is one of the state's premier players and high on the Rutgers recruiting radar. Now that schools can officially contact prospects, there has been a flood of colleges visiting Hackensack High School to offer Dias a scholarship. On May 1st, Miami paid Dias a visit and offered him a full scholarship. Although Dias has expressed a preference of playing outside linebacker, the Hurricanes are recruiting him as a DE. Some of the schools that have visited or offered him are Syracuse, Miami, Boston College, Maryland, Virginia, and Rutgers. Over the next few weeks, Kansas State, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Iowa, and North Carolina - to name a few - will visit and probably offer him a full ride. Although Dias continues to receive a lot of attention, he continues to list Rutgers, Virginia and Boston College as his leaders. He will definitely take an official visit to all three schools. To date, he had taken unofficial visits to Rutgers, Boston College, Virginia, and Maryland. In the next few weeks, he will take an unofficial visit to North Carolina. Last Saturday, he attended both the Maryland and Rutgers Spring Games. He plans to take a number of unofficial visits to the schools that he is most interested in but his no intentions of committing early. Instead, he will absorb all of the information, focus on playing his high school senior year, then take all of his official visits. Currently, he does not think that he will commit until late December or early January.
