Netwhispers (who is out of town) dropped me an email telling me that the rumor is true.
Davis was rated as the 68th best senior in the nation according to Brick Ottinger in 2001.
Football - Vote! It's patriotic
PISCATAWAY, NJ - Nominations are now being accepted for the Rutgers University Football Hall of Fame Class of 2002.
The Rutgers Football Class of 2002 will be feted on "Hall of Fame Day" on October 12, when the Scarlet Knights play host to West Virginia at Rutgers Stadium. The Football Hall of Fame Class of 2002 will also be recognized at the annual Rutgers Football Banquet, which takes place after the season has concluded.

Big East Football - New Bowl for the Big East
Charlotte, N.C. - Continental Tire, a brand of Continental Tire North America, Inc. has reached an agreement with Raycom Sports to become the title sponsor of college football's first bowl game in the Carolinas, it was announced today. The Continental Tire Bowl, set to take place in Charlotte, N.C., will pit the BIG EAST Conference against the Atlantic Coast Conference on Saturday, December 28 in Ericsson Stadium.

Hard feelings in Pittsburgh
Christy is part of a fraternity of Pitt football alumni who developed a strong loyalty to Morris when he was the Panthers' strength and conditioning coach throughout the 1980s. When Morris returned to Pitt in 1997, many in that group -- especially linemen with NFL earnings -- began to help fund the Panthers' weight room with donations the past five years. Morris was fired in February and now holds the same job with the Cleveland Browns. Since his departure, Christy and several others have begun to feel cut off from Pitt -- and are wondering if they should cut off the Panthers financially.
