Kevin Holloway discusses his commitment to RU

Kevin Holloway is among the fastest players in the state of Florida and one of the best CBs in the state. In early January, Holloway committed to Rutgers and put an end to his commitment.

Since Kevin Holloway was a sophomore, he has been attending the Rutgers football camps both in Florida and New Jersey. As a result of spending so much time on campus and with the Rutgers staff, Holloway developed a fondness for the New Jersey school. Indeed, during the 2004 football season, he had the opportunity to attend the Rutgers vs. Temple game.

Although he claimed 15 scholarship offers from schools such as Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Georgia Tech, the final decision regarding where to attend college was easy - it had to be Rutgers.

Holloway stated that "I know the whole staff and many of the players. They are like family and the place is a second or third home to me".

The decision was so easy for Holloway that he only took one official visit (Rutgers) and did not schedule any other visits.

Holloway stated "Rutgers was the place for me".

In order to bolster their defensive backfield, Rutgers recruited Holloway as a CB. Holloway possesses 4.35 speed in the forty along with great quickness and athleticism which makes up for his 5'8" frame.

Although Holloway's high school finished 0-8, Holloway was selected to play in the Dade-Boward county all-star game. During the game, the opposing QBs showed respect for Holloway's abilities by continuously avoiding to throw the ball to his side of the field.
