Craig Parcells, 6-6, 290, 5.2, Millburn HS
This is a good year for linemen in the State of New Jersey. One offensive linemen missed more than half of his games last year due to an injury but is still getting major attention from schools along the east coast.
Craig Parcells has what you can teach. Size. He is a legit 6-6, 290 runs the forty in a 5.2. Although he missed all but 4 games with an injury Craig still picked up 26 tackles, 4 sacks and knocked down six passes on defense. However, college recruiters are projecting him on offense. Last year Craig averaged 2-3 pancake blocks a game and, while noted as an excellent run blocker, he also pass blocks exceptionally well. Last year, in fact, he didn't give up a single sack in the games he played.
Incredibly, while only playing in four games Craig made both All County and All Conference all star teams. The All County was significant since it was an All County Coaches Team picked by the coaches themselves.
Early interest is coming from Rutgers, Virginia, Boston College, Maryland and UConn who have all dropped into to recruit him in person and Craig calls Boston College an early favorite. He is looking for a school with a good football program and a good academic program. He notes also that a good campus is important since a "good social life is important to me."
Craig will be attending two camps this summer but hasn't settled on his destination. Expecting a healthy year this season Craig may end up becoming one of the top recruited linemen in the state before the season is over.
