The well-spoken and humble Ruffin is taking it all in stride.
"I really owe it all to my Quarterback last year," stated Ruffin, in reference to his now graduated Senior teammate.
As one would expect when one puts up numbers along the lines of Ruffin's colleges will take notice. One of the schools that has taken notice was the lone Division I school from Ruffin's neighboring Garden State - Rutgers.
"I was at their Junior Day. I had a lot of fun. They took us to their weight room and everything was really nice. I had the opportunity to talk with Coach Flood - he's my recruiter - I like him. Overall, my impression of Rutgers was very good," said Ruffin.
While Ruffin has yet to receive his first offer, schools from across the nation are showing interest. The list of schools includes, in addition to the aforementioned Rutgers, Florida State, Alabama, Central Florida, Georgia, Marshall, and Connecticut.
SOR.com asked Ruffin to detail what he enjoys about each of the schools currently recruiting him.
Florida State -- I like them a lot. They always have one of the better teams in the country.
Alabama -- They're definitely one of my top schools right now and I like them a lot also. I might go to their camp as well.
UCF -- I don't really know too much about them but I'm pretty sure they played in a Bowl Game this year.
Marshall -- I haven't talked to them too much lately but they've been known to produce some very good wide receivers.
Georgia -- They have a really good team also.
Connecticut -- I like them a lot. I like their coaching staff, the way they keep in touch with you.
Thought still very early in the recruiting process, the talented NY WR admits that while he remains somewhat "neutral" in regards to his list of favorites, there are a few schools that have caught his attention more than others.
Which are these schools?
"Florida State, Rutgers, Connecticut, and Alabama," stated Ruffin.
However, Ruffin insists this is a very preliminary list that may change in the future as recruiting continues to heat up during the summer months.
For now, Ruffin continues to focus on practice and toward improving his game, running routes on a daily basis, two hours per day.
Fans should expect Ruffin to be on hand at the Rutgers camp this summer. In addition, Ruffin, a 4.5 second runner in the 40-yard dash, also plans on camping at Alabama later this upcoming summer.
