Ryan Lang

Ryan Lang, 6-3 1/2, 265, 4.9, West Essex Regional HS

Jersey's got a nice crop of offensive linemen this year and one of them is West Essex Regional's Ryan Lang. Ryan is 6-3 1/2, 265 with a solid 4.9 in the forty yard dash who was All County and All Conference last year. On offense Ryan averages close to 3 pancake blocks a game and was noted as a player who could both pass block and run block effectively. On defense Ryan had 50 tackles, 5 passes knocked down, 1punt blocked (which he recovered on the one yard line), 4 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries.

Early on Ryan is getting interest from Boston College, Virginia, Rutgers, Maryland and Syracuse. He favors BC, Virginia, RU and Maryland at this time. Virginia he likes because "it is a great school and I like the State of Virginia." With Rutgers he likes the coaching staff and facilities. Ryan notes, "I went to Syracuse and Rutgers and I liked the Rutgers facilities better and they are going to expand them even more." Boston College is among his favorites because "they have good academics and I like the City of Boston. Also they have been playing well." Finally, Maryland makes his favorites list due to the coach who is recruiting him and the Terrapins recent ACC championship.

Ryan projects as an offensive lineman at the next level. He will camp at BC but will probably take all his officials before deciding on a school. He wants to go to a school with good academics, good facilities and he wants to stay on the east coast. He'll check out all that on his official visits and then make a decision as to where he feels most comfortable.

Stay tuned I'll be checking back with Ryan later in the summer with an update on his favorites and his leans.
