Elijah Robinson, 6-3, 255, 4.65, DE, Camden, Woodrow Wilson H.S.
More and more the Camden area is becoming the focus of the recruiting efforts of many of the top programs in the nation. This year there is once again an abundance of talent in the Camden. One of the most heavily recruited players there will be Elijah Robinson. Last year Elijah opened some eyes with his versatile and talented performance for Woodrow Wilson. Out of the linebacker spot Elijah had 63 tackles (including an impressive 34 for loss), 1 interception, 3 forced fumbles and 6 fumbles recovered. On offense Elijah had 12 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown in a short stint at fullback before, out of necessity he was moved to cover the center position. At that point in time Elijah was already getting the attention of recruiters but his excellent showing at the center position really started turning heads and impressing college coaches with his versatility and overall athleticism. So much so that Elijah has picked up five division 1A offers with more on the way. As of this date Robinson has had offers from Rutgers, West Virginia, Virginia, Indiana and Central Florida. Several other schools including Maryland, North Carolina, North Carolina State have indicated that offers will probably be forthcoming and Miami is taking a hard look as well.
Elijah was First Team All Conference and First Team All Group. Expect him to add First Team All South Jersey when the coming season is over.
Robinson feels that his greatest strength is his leadership ability. "I can play when the chips are down. I have a lot of confidence in myself, my coaches and my team mates."
Right now Elijah is wide open. He'll be looking to sign with a school that has a winning tradition, a good academic program and high graduation rates. He is a full qualifier with a 3.3 GPA.
He'll be one of the most hotly recruited prospects in South Jersey this coming season.
