Rashawn Ricks, 6-3, 235, LB, Patterson Catholic HS
Rutgers fans often like to dream as to what would happen if all the best players in the State of New Jersey stayed home. Well, those fans will just love to hear what Rashawn Ricks has to say. "I'm pretty close to staying home but I'll wait till the summer is over and sit down with my parents and talk it over." About Rutgers, Rashawn says, "I believe in the plan, each year bringing in better players. I see the plan and I wouldn't mind being a part of it."
Rashawn has already made several trips to Rutgers and keeps coming away impressed. "I've taken four visits and they keep getting better. I've always wanted to stay home and play and Rutgers is right up there at the top of my list."
Last year the 6-3, 235 linebacker had over 100 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and an impressive 15 tackles for loss. That performance garnered All County, All Area and All League honors. A former team mate of Rutgers tackle Devon Clark, Rashawn is being recruited by Rutgers, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Maryland and Virginia. Rutgers offered early and the rest of Rashawn's schools are looking to get him into camp and will probably offer there. Rashawn is undecided over camps but lists Rutgers, Virginia and Syracuse as possibilities.
Rashawn is yet another player reporting that Rutgers is recruiting him the hardest of all the schools in contention.
Rashawn is being recruited by assistant coach Darren Rizzi.
