NJ OLB Randy Martinez stands out in 2 sports

Like many outstanding football players, Randy Martinez is a multi-sport player. Currently, he is an undefeated wrestler and competes in track and field. However, he is making a bigger name as a standout OLB. Check what he has to say about his football recruitment and his success in other sports.

Teaneck, NJ DE/OLB Randy Martinez has the type of physical tools that has been turning heads across the east coast. On his 6'1 235 frame, he has size, strength, quickness and explosiveness, all attributes that you want in someone playing that rush end or rush linebacker in the 3-4.

Martinez' athletic prowess has allowed him to be one of the more superior athletes in NJ. "As a Heavyweight wrestler, I am undefeated, 33-0 this year. In the spring, I do track have thrown the shot-put in the 48'. I want to continue to improve my power and technique and get that number up". Martinez won another important wrestling match last night taking the gold medal in regionals. He now has his eyes set on becoming the Region 2 State champion.

In football, Martinez is being recruited by Penn St, BC, Rutgers, Virginia, Miami-Fl, Michigan St, Maryland, UNC and several others. He has been to the Rutgers and Michigan State campus and has been pleased what both have to offer thus far.

This early in the process, he has been getting solid advice from family, friends, teachers and coaches. "I have been getting great support and many people are happy that my recruitment is going well. They all want me to go to the place that feels best for me. I just need to continue to work hard, get exposure, and then see ultimately which school feels best for me".
