Gordie Sammis, 6-5, 300, 5.2, OL, Immaculate HS

Offer Update

Rutgers, Virginia, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and Temple

Current leaders

Rutgers - "I like the fact that they are so close to home. I like Coach Schiano. We can put Rutgers on the map if we can put together a winner and bring pride to New Jersey."

Virginia - "I like the coaching staff and the way that they are recruiting and their commitment to a national championship."

Who's recruiting him the hardest?

Current Leader

"Rutgers and Virginia, they are both pretty much equal."

Will he make and early decision or a late one?

"I was supposed to go to camp at both Rutgers and Virginia but I pulled a hamstring and I don't want it acting up on me when the season starts so I'll pass on camps. I'll take one more unofficial with both schools before deciding. That'll be late June, early July."

Summer  plans

"I have visited a lot of the schools I wanted to see in the winter so I won't be visiting any more schools. I'll be lifting and running to get into shape."

Gordie Sammis might be the top offensive lineman in the State of New Jersey this year. He told me that he has really narrowed his choice down to RU and Va with the rest of the schools out of the picture at this point.
