Who wants "Mo"?

Maurice "Mo" Williams is not your typical football player. Having played at wide receiver, Quarterback, Cornerback and even Punter you can tell that this 6'3 190 athlete from Strong Vincent HS in Erie, Pennsylvania has the talent to play at the next level right away.

Maurice Williams, by way of Vincent HS in Pennsylvania, completed 44 of 92 passes for 1,193 yards and scored 11 touchdowns as a junior. He rushed for 442 yards and 9 touchdowns on 83 carries. Maurice earned first-team All-Region on offense and defense.

"I know I'm being recruited for many positions but I'll play whatever position a coach wants me to play, but I like receiver", stated Williams in a recent interview with SOR.com.

Williams attended the Scout.com Combine held at the University of Pittsburgh on Saturday March 4, 2006 where he did well in running a 4.47 40-yard dash while recording a 33.5" vertical leap. He plans on making it to the Nike Camp at Penn State.

Williams has a lot of schools interested in him but right now 3 have offered, those schools being Pitt, Syracuse and West Virginia. He's also gaining interest from Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Iowa, Northwestern and Rutgers.

"There hasn't been a whole lot of recruiting on Rutgers part, but I'm very interested in Rutgers and might stop by at spring camp with my coach."

Another question I asked the well spoken Williams is about the factors that would lead to his decision.

"It's going to come down to distance, academics and the coaching staff. I want to play somewhat close to home and I want to be comfortable with the coaching staff and players."
