Evan Rodriguez, a 6'3 200 lb safety from North Bergen, NJ is an athlete from New Jersey considered by many to be an elite level prospect. His combination of size and speed will be attractive to recruiters across the country. However, he as well as many others, have been surprised by the lack of offers to this point. He states that he is working hard in the classroom and is currently carrying a 2.4 GPA and expects to take the SAT soon.

But the lack of offers may be beginning to change. Evan recently received his first offer from Rutgers. He was excited to finally get that first offer under his belt and had this to say about the Scarlet Knights. "I am glad to get the offer. They are doing some good things at Rutgers. Coach Demo is recruiting me and he is a good guy. They are a school I see myself considering".

Evan also states that he spent last weekend at Maryland and that after meeting with their coaches, that they said he should be expecting an offer from them in the mail as well.

But it seems like Evan's dream school may be the USC Trojans. "I am flying out there for their camp. I want to go out there and compete and see if I come away with an offer from them. I believe I can play at that level"

Evan will also be camping at Boston College and states he has rooted from them watching them on TV.

He at this point in time is completely open to the recruiting process and wants to take his visits. He is also interested in seeing which other options present themselves. We at Scout.com, will be keeping an eye on Evan, and he is looking for ward to making his name known at the April 23rd Scout.com combine at Rutgers University.
