Dan Sica is a multi talented offense / defense type of guy that every division one team needs. On offense he has played wide receiver, slotback, and running back. On defense he has played linebacker and safety. He excels at all those positions.
Last year at wideout Dan had 28 catches for over 500 yards. At running back he had over 400 rushing yards in 50 carries. On defense at middle linebacker he had over 60 tackles including 10 tackles for loss, 10 passes knocked down, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery.
Overall, those performances were good enough for All Conference, All Division, All County and All Area Honors.
Early interest has come from Boston College, Rutgers, Penn State, Maryland, Iowa and Pittsburgh.
About his favorites he notes:
Boston College:" I just got back from their camp. I like the coaches and especially the defensive back coach. They give you an excellent education. My best friend Jeff Zuttah may verbal there and we might end up going to the same school together. Also, the campus is beautiful and near a big city."
Rutgers: "I was at the seven on seven camp yesterday and I am going up to the camp again tonight. It is right in my backyard and my parents could see me play. If I chose Rutgers I could be part of the reason that Rutgers turns things around. Also, all the coaches have been great to me."
Penn State: "The atmosphere is great, everything is football. Joe Paterno is a legend and I'd love to play for him"
Virginia: "I was down there for 'junior day'. I really like their facilities. They seem to be an up and coming program. Their campus is beautiful and their education is great."
So how will Dan decide:
"All my favorites have good academics. I'll look at how long it will take for me to play at a program but in the end my heart will tell me the right place to go. I'll camp at all my favorites and decide from there."
Stay tuned for more on Dan's recruiting story as we'll bring more online about this top prospect just as soon as we get it.
