Recently, Vasquez has been told by Oregon State head coach Mike Riley that he is a priority for them and that he should be expecting a written offer in the mail in the coming days. He has also been receiving many letters from others showing strong interest; Florida, Louisville, Oregon, Rutgers, and Pittsburgh. If he gets a chance to return to the east coast, he would consider that very strongly. He needs to visit schools and find a staff and team where he will feel valued as both as a football player and person.
And the fact that it appears Luis will continue playing college football and obtain his degree is a big relief for Luis Vasquez' Sr.
"Our family felt sad for him after his mistakes at Purdue. But we knew that he would get another chance if he approached it the right way; put his best foot forward, become accountable to himself, and let the chips land where they may".
He is finding
fun in the hard work, and understands that his success in life will be a by-product
of his actions.
