Sporting News Recognizes RU Football Players

Fresh off the program's first ever Bowl Game outside of its state boundaries, the honors and awards have been plentiful for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The latest recognizes six members of the Rutgers University football, including several of the national variety.

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Senior Brian Leonard (Gouverneur, NY) has been named the number one fullback in the nation, and is one of six members of the Rutgers University football team to earn spots on The Sporting News 2006 Pre-Season All-BIG EAST teams, according to TSN's 2006 National College Football Yearbook, which will be available next month.

In addition, Rutgers senior Clark Harris, by way of Manahawkin, NJ, was recognized as the number two tight end in the nation, while Willie Foster (Miami, FL) and Courtney Greene (New Rochelle, NY) both received national recognition as well.
